Three men arrested for allegedly stealing three ATVs have entered not guilty pleas in Mason Circuit Court.
Sie Bradley Hamilton, 21, of Hillsboro, Patrick R. Evans, 19, of Hillsboro, and Isaac M. Spears, 18, of May's Lick all appeared before 19th District Judge Stockton B. Wood in Mason Circuit Court, Friday, July 23.
All three were indicted by a Mason County grand jury in July on three counts of theft by unlawful taking in excess of $500 but less than $10,000 and one count third-degree burglary for entering or remaining in a barn belonging to Jeff Bunch, of Mason County.
Spears, Hamilton, and Evans are out on $10,000 bond from the Mason County Detention Center according to the facility's Website.
The three mean were originally arrested on Thursday, June 3 after Fleming County Sheriff's Deputy William Hendrix observed an ATV being ridden on the main highway, followed by a pickup truck that was hauling a second ATV on Mount Tabor Road near Fairview on Tuesday, June 2.
When Hendrix attempted to stop the vehicles because the situation looked odd to him, three men fled the area on foot.
Believing the ATVs had been stolen, police impounded the ATVs, as well as the truck.
On Thursday morning, Hamilton and Spears came to the Fleming County Sheriff's Office to recover the truck. They were detained and questioned by authorities, admitting they took three ATVs and could lead police to the whereabouts of the third ATV, as well as the third suspect, Evans.
Other action in Mason Circuit Court included the denial of shock probation for David M. Elliott, 20, in a case involving an assault on a Maysville Police Officer.
